- Appoint T&j as Consultant

- Provide T&j With any Additional Documents/information Relating To Claim, As and When Required By Them
- For Loading/discharging Liquid/dry Bulk Ships In Indian Ports
- Appoint T&j as Consultant
- Provide to t&j with copy of charter party/fixture note relevant to the ship/shipment
- Follow through charterer agent in respective port in india as per process given by t&j
- Complete shipment and through charterer agent in respective port in india as per advice of t&j complete statement of facts(sof) and laytime statement for relevant ship/shipment
- In the event of any claim arising in the shipment-provide to t&j relevant.
Claim Documents For Processing For Settlement
Insurer To Ensure The Following:- take measures as may be reasonable as possible for the purpose of minimizing a loss.
- remove cargo from wet package.
- ensure to keep damaged cargo aside pending insurer’s decision if a survey is required.
- to assist/cooperate in the reworking/ reconditioning/ repacking/ testing/ repairs etc of the cargo that is damaged/affected.
- to assist in the salvage sale.
- ensure that all rights against carriers, bailees or 3rd parties are properly preserved.

- Submit The Following Documents For Your Claim:
- Insurance certificate/policy
- Commercial invoice
- Packing list
- Bill of lading/airway bill with terms and conditions on the reverse side
- Survey report or other documentary evidence to show the extent of the loss or damage
- Delivery note/receipt/order
- Correspondence exchanged with the carriers and other parties regarding their liability for the loss or damage.
- Other documents may be requested, if applicable:
- Replacement quotations
- Claim bill
- Cargo manifest
- Container damage report
- Written confirmation of non-delivery from carrier
- Police statement/report for theft/hijack cases
Claims Process For Marine Cargo
- a) Notify
- Notify your intermediary or t&j immediately of any occurrence that may require a claim.
- Give notice in writing to the carriers or other bailees within 3 days of the delivery of cargo if the loss or damage was not apparent at the time of delivery.
- b) Survey Call
- Call for survey immediately and request the carrier or other bailees for joint survey
- For imports, contact your broker/agent or t&j
- For exports, contact the survey agent stated in the insurance certificate/policy
- c) Mitigate loss
- Take all practical steps to mitigate the loss or damage
- d) Report to Police
- Report to police immediately (within 24 hours) in case of theft, burglary or damage.
- e) Examine the goods
- Take photos of the damaged goods, if applicable, do not dispose the damaged goods
- To clause delivery receipts where goods are received in doubtful condition.
- When delivery is made by container, to ensure that the container and its seal are examined immediately.
